B.Tech Project :Study of tankwall effect

CFD analysis of tank wall effect

Prediction of resistance is an important part of vessel design. Resistances are measured in a towing tank for a series of speed . These values are used to design a vessel which is supposed to provide service in open water. But motion behavior of a vessel in a towing tank may be quite different from the same vessel in the open water. Many experimental as well CFD analysis have been done in past to study this problem. The difference is found in augmentation of resistance due to the tank wall effect. This project uses Fluent, a commercial software to study this problem
