How to win with Marth/Roy
Tip #1
Know Marth's and Roy's swords well. The tip of Marth's blade is the strongest while it is the weakest with Roy. With Roy, the middle of his blade is the strongest while the middle is the weakest with Marth. Marth's blade is slightly longer than Roy's .Roy's up-B attack is more powerful than Matth's however does less damage. Marth's blade is the longest in the game. Marth's blade gives you a slightly higher chance of getting instant KO's than Roy's.All of their sword moves vary sightly in power and in strength.
Tip#2 Be cheap. All of Marth's and Roy's cheap moves are there for a reason. Especially at 2.0 percent damage! One cheap tip to use against a human or CPU is to run right up to them and use counter. They will attack you and go flying. Lather, rinse, repeat desired amount or until opponent is dead. Roy's up-B attack is an instant KO on 2.0 damage. And don't forget Marth's smash moves. Aerial moves are key to winning in 1.0 damage. When combine with L-canceling, wavedashing, and shorthopping, you can combo even the best of evaders. Marth's instant kill combo is: Fair without moving, Nair, Nair, Fair, Fair, Fsmash. Marth's and Roy's wavedash is one of their most useful tactics. It's speed can be used to quickly evade attacks or combo your opponents into oblivion. Perform a wavedash grab for one of the more effective quick grabs in the game.
