Episode 2

Sakura's alarm clock goes off.

Cerberos flies over Sakura and tries to wake her up. She doesn't recognize his voice and screams when she sees him. Kero screams too. Then Sakura remembers. She opened the Clow book. She says she won't be a Card Captor but Kero shows her the FLY card and congratulates her. Sakura heads downstairs for breakfast. Her father and brother are surprised she is up so early. Sakura explains she is on cleaning duty at school. [ In Japan, elementery schools don't have janitors. Instead, the students are responcible for cleaning their classrooms. ]

Sakura decides to take a detour on her way to school. She stops in front of Yukito's house. It looks like no one is home until Yukito pops up. He was raking the lawn. He gives Sakura a flower for the classroom. Sakura blades off in a state of 'hanyaan.' She is the first person to arrive in the classroom but Tomoyo enters right as she set down her books.

Sakura : Tomoyo-chan, were you a moniter for something?
Tomoyo : No, I just have something I want to show you.

Tomoyo pulls a video camera out of her bag and plays a tape. Sakura watches a clip of herself and Kero flying. Sakura gives a loud "HOE!" Kerberos springs out of Sakura's backpack.

Kerberos : What's wrong, Sakura? Is it a Clow Card? Where is it? I'll fight ya! Come and get me!

Tomoyo stares at Kerberos, then the tape, then Kerberos again. They are identical!

At break, Sakura askes what Kero was doing in her bag. Kerberos says that he wanted to see what a Card Captor's day was like. Sakura and Kerberos explain the whole thing to Tomoyo-chan. Tomoyo says that Kerberos looks more like a Kero-chan than a Kerberos. [ Kero means 'ribit' I believe, as in the sound a frog makes. ] Kero tells them not to tease him but they call him Kero-chan forever after! Unlike Sakura, Tomoyo-chan is thrilled about all of this. She asks Sakura for a demonstration of her magic. Sakura is hesitant but Kero says no one is around. Sakura pulls out her magic key.

Sakura : O Key that hides the power of the dark, reveal thy true form to me.
This, by the covenant, I, Sakura, command!
RELEASE!
Tomoyo : You can do magic with that rod?
Sakura : I need a card though.

Kero pulls out the FLY card and shows it to Tomoyo.

When school lets out, the students pour out of the school. Their shadows, however, do not follow.

Sakura arrives at school the next day to find that all the desks have been pilled on top of one another inside and outside the school building. The students spend all day setting the clasrooms right. Tomoyo suggests that something this strange may be the work of a Clow Card. Later at home, Sakura tells Kero what happened. He is unable to determine whether or not a card is to blame buy suggests Card Captor Sakura check it out. Sakura, however is scared of going to the school at night. She has a BIG fear of ghosts. Tomoyo, therefore, says she will accompany Sakura.

Late that night, Sakura and Kero-chan arrive at the gates of Tomoeda Elementary. Tomoyo arrives a few moments later by car. She is escorted by female bodygaurds. After being introduced, the bodygaurds (all wearing sunglasses) drive off. There is a large van left behind though. Tomoyo's mother is the president of a toy company and therefore very rich.

Tomoyo : Well, let's change.
Sakura : W... Why?
Tomoyo : Aren't you going to capture Clow Cards now? When you do special things, you should wear special clothes.
Sakura : What?
Kero : She's right!
Tomoyo : If you don't dress like a Card Captor, you might lose face with the cards. I'm so happy you understand.

Sakura emerges from the van very embarrased in her new costume. A noise is heard coming from the school. Kero senses a card's presence so they enter. They are in the middle of the school yard when a statue comes flying at them. Tomoyo notices that it is being held up by something invisible by looking at its shadow. Kero recognizes it as the SHADOW card. Sakura RELEASES her key then uses WINDY in an attempt to chain SHADOW but it doesn't work. Kero tells her to use FLY to get away fro now.

Kero : Sakura can't handle this many.
Tomoyo : Isn't there some way?
Kero : The student shadows will disappear with the light, leaving just the main body.
Tomoyo : If that's all, leave it to me.

Meanwhile Sakura is trying to avoid capture. She dodges SHADOW for a while before it's able to wrap itself around the wand. Tomoyo flicks the school lights on and Sakura's wand is released. She goes spinning off. The main body of SHADOW is all that is left. This time, WINDY is able to chain SHADOW.

Sakura : Return to thy true form Clow Card.

The following day at school, Sakura asks a passing Chiharu-chan if she know where Tomoyo-chan can be found. Sakura wants to thank Tomoyo for her help in catching the SHADOW card. Chiharu directs Sakura to the Audio/Visual (AV) room. Sakura slides the door to the AV room open to find Tomoyo watching a film clip of Sakura spinning in the air away from SHADOW.

Sakura : You taped even that?
Tomoyo : Of course! I can't stand to miss even one second of your heroism! Please call me whenever you are going to capture cards.
Sakura : What?
Tomoyo : We have to lead the Adventures of the Card Captor to posterity.
Sakura : Tomoyo-chan... ^_^;;
Tomoyo : And then I'll take care of your costume each time. Next time, you need more lace and a ribbon...
