ABOUT #KLSEChat

#KLSEChat is not the pioneer IRC channel for KLSE investors. There were many before but #KLSEChat is the first serious attempt at keeping the channel active with some semblence of order and management and we are proud to say that we have been very successful so far.

It all began on one fine day in December 1998 at Dalnet where #KLSEChat was registered with a list of about 5 regular chatters logging in during trading hours and after 9pm to chat about stocks and almost everything else under the sun. However, Dalnet K-lined Malaysian IPs and we had to move to Undernet.

Due to the rather lengthy channel registration process enforced by Undernet, we were unable to maintain control of #KLSEChat and was constantly locked out of the channel. Not long after channel registration was approved, #KLSEChat had to move again because Malaysian IPs were being K-lined at Undernet as well.

Fortunately by then, the K-line at Dalnet was lifted and we moved back. However Dalnet was facing serious network instability at that time and we had to look for another IRC server network. We finally moved to Galaxynet where we have been till now.
