I don't have a particular ax to grind with the whole gay marriage debate. Libertarian philosophy is generally "live and let live". I do see some troublesome links that can be made. If 2 men or 2 woman can marry don't we then have to allow 3 people to marry? How about 5 people. How about a man and his adult daughter? It seems to me we are opening pandora's box, and that is just talking about consenting adults. |

Here is a little scheme from our friends in the third world that is guaranteed to make you angry. Why? Because it is costing us a fortune!
You have probably noticed a lot of immigrants coming from areas like Somalia in recent years. Those immigrants that have settled in the US are bringing relatives over who are Mentally retarded, developmentally disabled, chronically ill, etc. because of the quality health care in the US (despite what liberal Democrat's may tell you). Our government won't send them back because Somalia does not have a "recognized government" to accept them. Of course neither the patient or the family has money to pay for their own care. That means good ole' joe taxpayer (AKA you and I) are paying for life long care for poor old Mohamed. What does life long care cost? A fortune........ |

Watched the news lately? Heard about massive flooding in Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin? Wheres is the outcry? I don't hear Iowan's demanding FEMA come to take care of them. I don't see Missouri politicians on TV blaming the White House for the flooding. I don't see Wisconsin residents blaming everyone but themselves for their situation. Why is that? One reason is personal responsibility. These people know they live in a flood plain. When they here that flooding is likely they GET THE HELL OUT. Another reason is good neighbors working together. That means sandbagging, helping neighbors move and get supplies. It does not mean pissing and moaning for every TV camera you see. Here is AngryKory's prediction: All of these midwes flood damaged areas will be rebuilt or restored long before New Orleans is. |

AngryKory endorses Libertarian Party candidate Bob Barr for President in 2008. Barr was a US Representative from Georgia from 1995-2003. He was also appointed as a US Attorney by President Ronald Reagan.
Here are the issue positions that sold me on Barr:
1. Reduce the size of government and their spending
2. Protect individual liberty
3. Secure our borders
4. Pursue a policy of military non-intervention. I think Barr's statement on this is perfect:
We are not the world's police force. The proper use of force is clear. If attacked, the aggressor will experience firsthand the skillful wrath of the American fighting man
