Sad and lonely
The drifting begins
Life has become dull
And monotonous
Day after day
Sunrise and sunset
She feels nothing
Alone and apart
From the world.
Instead of rejoicing
Sadness overwhelms
Thoughts run through
Of times gone by
Heaviness in the heart
Wears down the mind
Feelings from within
Flood my being
My heart aches
For love once felt
The love once shared
Is gone now
One day we'll reunite
The sorrow will then be gone.
