Finnish-Russian clown theatre group "ELE"
   
The play is a story of clown buddies who make a journey to an ordinary 
day in order to find the joy concealed in it... as always. The heart of 
the play are situations, events and objects familiar from everyone's 
 text-based script. It tells a story of everyday events using clownery 
and drama (=action). Words are not used; the story is narrated as 
action, where facial expressions and gestures tell everything.

While clown performances are narrated with actions, facial expressions 
and gestures based on clownery, they are built according to the laws of 
stage drama. They are suitable for audiences of all ages from 
schoolchildren to adults regardless of their language.

Like all of our performances also this play is "suitcase theatre", 
which can be set up quickly and easily. Stagings are not used.

Clown theatre group ELE has been active since year 2000 with a tour 
performance of clown play "Little drama for three noses" (Draaman 
poikanen kolmelle nenälle). The play has been performed in art- and 
theatre happenings, theatre festivals, schools, old people's homes and 
other gatherings.

"A completely amazing occurrence" (Täysin uskomaton tapaus) premiered 
in November 2001. The play was co-produced by ELE, Turku City Theatre 
and the city of Turku.

Clown play "Small, small, small... tragedies" (Pienet, pienet, 
pienet... tragediat) premiere in 2003 at the Turku ÅST (Turku Swedish 
Theatre) stage. The play is a co-production between ELE, ÅST and Turku 
Cultural Centre.


Clown theatre group ELE consists of Finnish and Russian actors and a 
director.
