Haunting Pattern

Ghostly whispers haunting the place I used to call home

Remains of a crumbling memory

Am I here alone?

I’ve returned to the site for several days

Just to see if my feelings have ever changed

I was so sure when I left that I’d never come back here again

Years have passed since the fire that took everything away

Including you...

Shadows creep up so silently

Crawling nearby while I sleep

Dreaming of the wreckage
