The Chequers
This house was built by David Betts of Granddad's Playroom.

I just love to play with it, especially since I don't have the tiresome process (for me at least) of wallpapering and painting.
Would you believe people *still* couldn't keep their hands off the house?
This is the living room, upstairs.
And this is the bar downstairs. It's a very small tavern, seating only five or six people...
The furniture is mostly by Mike Mortimer.

To the left is a better picture of the wonderful cooking fireplace. It has a crane to hang either a roasting plate or a big pot.
The family sleeps in the attic... I still need to find more beds for them...
This is Tay, who lives in the house, talking to Nan, the little girl who lives next door.
Nan(ny) is of course named after Joyce Betts. :)
The dolls are made by Gill Caudlwell and the dresses are made by me.
I made a commercial pattern of this clothing which is sold as a full kit (fabric plus trimmings) by my friend Annabella, The Fairy Tailor.
Annabella designed Kathryn's dress (see next page), which she also sells as a kit.
