Don't find fault. Find a remedy.
Treat your friends as you do your pictures; place them in the best light.
A good marriage is the union of two forgivers.
It's not what we earn but what we save that makes us rich.
The soul can split the sky in two, and let the face of God shine through.
A good way to judge people is by observing how they treat those who can do them absolutely no good.
Progress has less to do with speed and more to do with direction.
In the presence of trouble, some people grow wings; others buy crutches.
A toast to your coffin.
Your conscience is a little triangle in your heart. It acts like a pinwheel. When you're good it does not rotate. When you're bad, it turns around and the corners hurt a lot. If you keep on being bad, the corners eventually wear off, and when the little triangle spins around it doesn't hurt anymore.
The Wise Woman's Stone
But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said. "I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone." Sometimes it not the wealth you have but what's inside you that others need.
Follow through. Stopping at third base adds no more to the score than striking out.

People rarely disclose their character so clearly as when they describe someone else's.
Knowing the truth and living the truth are two different things. If you live your life out of memory, you live out of your history. That's what once was. If you live out of your imagination, you live out of your potential. That's what can be.
Give and forget. Receive and remember.
Whenever you get red in the face, whenever you raise your voice, whenever you get "hot under the collar," or angry, rebellious, or negative in spirit, then know that the Spirit of God is leaving you and the spirit of Satan is beginning to take over."
Ethics are what you believe.
"The greatest battle of life is fought within the silent chambers of the soul. A victory on the inside of a man's heart is worth a hundred conquests on the battle fields of life. To be master of yourself is the best guarantee that you will be in charge of the situation. Know thyself. The crown of character is self-control."
..."Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when
we don't judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the
benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone's
differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who
has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone
doesn't handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to
take advantage of another's weakness and being willing to forgive someone who
has hurt us.

Crises are often created by an inability to distinguish between urgency and importance.. . The more planning you do, the fewer crises you will experience.
Good habits are not acquired simply by making good resolves, though the thought must precede the action. Good habits are developed in the workshop of our daily lives. It is not in the great moments of test and trial that character is built. That is only when it is displayed. The habits that direct our lives and form our character are fashioned in the often uneventful, commonplace routine of life. They are acquired by practice
I choose to live by choice, not by chance;
Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure.
The "haves" and the "have nots" can be traced back to the "dids" and the "did nots."
Do you think for a moment that Heavenly Father would have sent one of His
children to the earth by accident, without the possibility of a significant
work to perform?...You are preserved to come to the earth in this time for a special purpose. Not
just a few of you, but all of you. There are things for each of you to do that
no one else can do as well as you...
Often you will not feel the Spirit even when you are trying very hard to be near the Lord. The Lord
is letting you grow in making decisions based on your knowledge of righteous principles. He is also
letting you prove to yourself that you will keep his commandments when you don't feel his nearness.
If you always felt inspired, you as a son or daughter could not and would not really grow. Spiritual growth
comes as you seek his inspiration, his closeness, and his peace. Even Jesus felt the absence of the Spirit
at times. This is why he cried out 'My God, my god, why hast thou forsaken me? as he hung on the cross.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have
got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as
possible before handing down to future generations.
