| 1977-1987 "The Lamberts" Almost immediately after my conversion, I started singing with my mom and dad, The Lamberts. We sang in churches for Revival meetings, Campmeetings, special events, and song fests. We kept a very busy schedule throughout most of my grade school and high school years. I remember once while I was in grade school, we sang 8 straight weeks in Revivals without any time off. Back then they didn't start Revivals in the middle of the week, it started on Monday! Sometimes they had two-week Revivals... imagine that! Although it was at times exhausting, I wouldn't trade any of those experiences for the world. I met so many wonderful people and made some lifelong friendships. We saw God do some great things during those 10 years. We also made 2 recordings during our ministry together. 1987-1990 "Resounding Joy" After the ministry with mom and dad ended, I began singing with my two cousins, Jackie Leeth and Trish Leeth in a group we formed out of our home church. The group's name was Resounding Joy. We sang mostly in our surrounding communities and throughout south and central Ohio. After we started attending Circleville Bible College, we also traveled a couple summers in a work team for the college, singing and counseling in youth camps and church services. We traveled to other places such as Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and others. This was a great experience full of learning, hard work, as well as many, many fun moments. I definitely remember a lot of laughing!! Thanks Jackie and Trish for a wonderful and an unforgettable 3 years... I'll treasure those days always! 1990-1992 "Spirit of Praise" Me and my husband-to-be joined an already established group, Spirit of Praise, with my brother Brad Lambert, and two other long-standing members, Mark DePugh and Randy Minney. Not too long after we joined, our good friend Darold Conklin joined the group. Denver Triggs also came aboard, and Kevin Kendall came in after Brad left. Spirit of Praise's style was fresh and different from what I had sang in the past, yet still classified as Southern Gospel. We sang a lot of youth-oriented services, Revivals, and various Concerts. In 1991 we entered and won 1st place in the SGMA talent contest held in Renfro Valley, KY. What an exciting, unbelievable experience. We later had the privilege to record in Nashville, TN with the Eddie Crook Company. The two years me and my husband spent with the Spirit of Praise was during an important time in our lives, as we were married almost immediately after joining the group. It was an honor to sing and minister with such talented individuals as Mark, Randy, Brad, Kevin, Darold and Denver...and it was time very well spent! 1993-2001 "Ransomed" After taking a year off the road from traveling, me and my husband Tim, along with my brother Brad, my cousin Gary Lambert, and a close friend, Bob Farmer, formed the family-oriented group Ransomed. Our style was a mixture of southern, contemporary, and country... mixed with a little folk. Brad left the group at the end of 1995 to pursue a ministry with the male quartet, The Mercy River Boys. We continued on for 6 more years, in which we eventually focused our ministry to our home church in Waverly, Ohio. We pioneered a Praise and Worship team there, providing the music and singing and leading in worship every Sunday morning. We didn't travel much the last 2 to 3 years of our ministry due to the time we were devoting to our church. Ransomed made 4 recordings in all. What an incredible 8 years we spent together in ministry... it was quite a ride! June 2001 - Present After attending and ministering at New Covenant Church in Waverly, OH for 8 years, Tim and I felt God's call to move to Columbus, OH in June of 2001. We took an indefinite, God-prescribed sebatical from active music ministry. God used this time for renewal and spiritual refreshing after a severe bout with burnout. In January 2003, after a year and a half of being out of the music ministry, I became actively involved in the praise & worship music at Grove City Nazarene Church. What an honor and a privilege to play with such talented and anointed musicians & singers. However, after 7 months I felt God's bidding to step out of the music ministry and endeavor into a new area of ministry at GCCN, Compassionate Ministries. I consider myself very blessed to have had the experience of being in the music ministry at Grove City Nazarene. I'm sure that eventually I will step back into music ministry at some level. God's in control and I know he'll let me know when and where. |
