| Where Is Christmas? | ||||||||||
| Where is Christmas? It seems to have disappeared. It must have gotten lost in the haste of last season, it hasn't been seen yet this year. Everyone seems so befuddled over how and what to buy, We stretch and we twist our pockets to squeeze every nickel and dime. We make out our lists and check them twice to make sure we buy the right gifts. Then suddenly remember that we bought that last year for the third one down on the list. I miss the days when Christmas felt pure, Radiating love and truth. Cares of life seemed so far from the mind as laughter and cheer filled the room. Christmas is a time for family, a time to celebrate God's love. But sometimes when we gather, it brings back a memory of what was. We look at those who surround us, the smiles and the faces we know. We reminisce about loved ones in years gone by, and sometimes the tears want to flow. Where is Christmas? Is it truly gone? No, only if we wish it to be. Christmas is God's gift to us, We must open our hearts to see... That Christmas is not about Santa, Not just about presents and lights. It's about the Spirit of God incarnate that came down to Bethlehem one night. There would not be a Christmas to celebrate, If there had been no lowly birth. So before we open one present, Let's thank Jesus for coming to earth. |
