Raider's Take on Double Dip @ Marist 9-09-06

Boys Race Results:

Zack McIntyre led the men with a time of 18: 39. He placed 17th overall. He was followed by Dan Tinsley, who ran a 19:23. Jon Rudolph and Drake Dillon finished at a time of 19:55. It is great that the Raiders are coming together and running in a closer pack. Senior Matt Cameron ran a 20:46, chasing Chris Lacomba who ran a 20:38. Jackson Reynolds earned his way to Varsity for the next race running a time of 21:26. The guys felt that the race course was tough and are looking forward to next saturday's race against Cherokee at Boling Park.

Girls Race Results:

Jessi Forbes led the Lady Raiders with a time of 23:28, who chased down Dayna Quigley who ran a time of 23:46. Both girls felt that the course was slow. Considering that the first place finisher Bret McDaniel, from Riverwood High School, finished in a time of 20:48. Also running for the Lady Raiders was Corey McIntyre with a time of 27:19, Katie Vance (29:28), Kelsey Maher (29:32), Meghan Meeks (29:32), and Caitlin Livinston with a time of 30:20. The girls suffered a loss of Claire White, who normally runs in the 2-3 position on the team, to an injury in practice but plans on joining the team soon. I am proud of the girls, but we have a lot of work to do. -Leonard

Raider's Travel to Cherokee Warp
ath 9-16-06

Boys Race Results:

Overall our boys team have dropped their times from the last race, and hopefully we will continue to see improvement. Leading the Raiders to the Warpath was Zack McIntyre with an unoffical time of 17:52. He was followed by Dan Tinsley (18:54), and Jon Rudolph (18:59). Coming in 4th for the Running Raiders was Drake Dillon with a time of 19:27. Jackson Reynolds ran a 20:09. Michael Kutka (20:15) and Kevin Kells (20:17) both earned their way from JV to Varsity.

Girls Race Results:

It was a close race for the Lady Raiders this weekend as we all watched Dayna Quigley and Jessi Forbes race for the finish. Jessi proved faster by a hair today, running an unoffical time of 21:31, while Dayna ran a 21:32. Just a second between our leading ladies as they race for the top spot on the team. They were followed by Claire White (24:06), who the team is greatful to have back after a practice injury several weeks ago. Corey McIntyre (25:17) had hoped that freshmen Meghan Meeks (25:47) and Kelsey Maher (26:01) would follow her to the finish line. Katie Vance finished with a time of 26:48. All of our girls times have improved greatly. No one from the girls varsity team have lost their positions for the next race. Leonard~

Raiders challenge Eagles and Bulldogs @ County Meet 9-30

Boys Results

Zack McIntyre once again brought his time down today, running a 17:29 while he placed 7th overall in the county. Zack made All County for the Raiders today and that will be posted at the end of the season in the paper. Dan Tinsley ran a 18:48, followed by Jon Rudolph at 19 flat. Jackson Reynolds time decreases as he ran a 19:05, followed closely by Matt Cameron (19:07), Brandon Gibbs (19:17), and Michael Kutka(19:18). It was exciting to watch the Boys team come in so close together like that, but we were beat by South Forsyth High school who scored an almost perfect score of 17. North had a score of 58 and Central's score was 63. It was a close race between North and Central, but thankfully we proved faster today.

Girls Results

Dayna Quigley came out as our leading lady this week running a time of 21:22, who like Zack, also placed in All County. Dayna placed 6th in the county. Jessi Forbes ran a time of 22 flat scoring 8th overall. She was followed by Claire White, who ran a time of 22:33 and placed 11th overall. It was really great to have 3 girls in the top 15 and to see them all receive metals for their hard work. Also running for the Lady Raiders were Corey McIntyre (25:12), Kelsey Maher (25:37), and Tori Andrews (25:58). Playing year round soccer, this was Tori's first Cross Country Race. Meghan Meeks came in a second behind Tori making our top seven list yet again. South Forsyth won the girls race with a perfect score of 15, Central placed second with a score of 59, and North placed 3rd with a score of 60. This is the first time that Central has beat us in a race this season, and hopefully it will be the last time. We will be racing at Unicoi State Park at the Mountain Invitational Cross Country Meet Oct. 3rd. Leonard~
