| A looking glass never lies Reveals to you what lies inside Today's man, born from yesterday's child A different spark from behind those eyes... I was once just a simple guy A little naive and very kind Driving down the pathways of life Taking whatever I could find But sometimes, you take a wrong turn That leads you through heartache and pain Then you spend all your time searching For a way to make it back again Yesterday's Child A shadow of what was to come I made it through some of the toughest times Though I wonder just how sometimes I had no faith, no love for myself And, God knows, nothing else I fell in love and got shot down Didn't think anyone wanted me around I need someone who doesn't need me But, hey, that's the way life goes Yesterday's Child I'm so much stronger now Today's Man I'm finally in control Though it hurts sometimes I'm gonna keep pushing on Today...
