| Sapphires or Emeralds |
| Sapphires or emeralds, One and the same. Two perfect jewels, Bewitching, they hold my gaze. Falling deeper into their Sparkling light, They blind my eyes, Hold me fast As the venom from a Poisonous sting. Paralyzing, tantalizing, Always changing From blue to green With the mood of the one Who holds them. My hands ache to reach out, The greed to own them overpowering... But they are not mine to touch, Only yours to give. Sapphires or emeralds, Sometimes laughing or sad, Hiding secrets of a painful past. Looking deeper, I search to find A way to make those secrets mine. Entrenched in sorrow, I wait patiently For the day they belong to me. For on that day, My search will end, No more wanting or worrying. For those two jewels, That lie in your eyes, Will be home again. |
