THE CAVE

bound, face to the wall

meaningless sounds fill the air

dancing shadows my only knowledge

of this my reality

freedom comes but with a price

a world i won't understand

will i explore this new found life

or remain content with a dream

my love for the son grows

i won't go back to the cave

for meaning is not found in shadows

or a life of mediocrity
