| Chocolate Chip Cookies Makes about 24 cookies Ingredients 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/12 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 chopped nuts (optional) Directions Cream together sugars, margarine, egg and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Gradually stir in flour, salt and baking soda until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets, allowing 2 inches between each cookie. Bake in a 375 degree Fahrenheit oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool for 2 minutes before removing cookies from pan to a wire cooling rack. |
