                          OUCH!
                      (Photoshop)

This was one of my first attempts at using the software. I was so excited when I'd received as a birthday present with my new computer that I was so very eager to try it out. Originally this picture was going to be done in Prismacolor. But I felt that it might be a little faster if I did it with Photoshops tools.

A very dear friend of mine had commissioned me to do a series of pictures on the 11 steps of how to treat a person who is blind.  The premise of this piece NOT to leave doors and cupboards open. While it may seem a humorous picture it is not meant to be. They can be seriously hurt when they aren't aware that someone has left a door open. While a sighted person can see the door or cupboard someone who is blind cannot, therefore they can't stop short before they run into it.

For all this drawings crudeness I am very proud of how it turned out. I did the border on the wall, dress and "wood" on the cupboard in layers. Although I had no idea what the heck I was doing at the time, with a little help from my friends, I feel the piece came out nicely.
Below is the original pencil sketch that I had scanned then colorized in Photoshop.
Originally done in graphite then traced over with a felt tip pen.
