Jim Jones and the Kkoolaidman
was formed in 1998 in Houston TX  as an industrial/noise art projekt.
Experimental I suppose you could call it.
Discordinant and unsettling at times.
but Overall it was just chaos.
clicks and buzzes.
erractic.
percussive.
intuitive.
Like a lost child I wandered thru sound.
Trying to find a direction.
Then finally I reached a crossroad
and decided why not try
all of them at once.
Out of  all this came the tracks that were eventually released in summer
of 03' as "Ashkelon" for posterity's sake. Sort of a porpheritic mixture of the occasional snapshot of what was left on the proverbial drawing board too long occasionally.  My first 2 "vocal"  tracks "Eternal" and "Crib Death" I suppose were the afformentioned cross roads. They were sloppy to say the least.
With horrible recording levels and extremely over - drawn out programming.
But thru scrutinizing those tracks I began to bring structure and balance to later creations , such as "Mindkkiller".
Late in 02' I finished the track  "In Dreams"  and after being pestered by my few fans at the time to release an album I decided to quit starting new tracks (by then my catalog of unfinished tracks was approaching 200)
and to pick a list of 20 or so tracks to concentrate on and actually cut a complete  album from the best of the best.
As I found out  this wouldnt be as easy as I originally assumed it would be. Set back after set back ensued and
production drug out over the next year. Largely due to the fact that as I kept working on the songs the entire sound
of JJKM began to evolve and develop into what it is, has, and will become.
Not wanting to release something that I thought could be better I kept slaving away and progressing.
But a few months ago after I had  begun to notice JJKM popping up on club/radio playlists and musik sites all over
the world ,and my number of downloads was approaching 3000, I realized people must be liking what they're hearing
so I began the the final stages of produktion on what has now become
"the elektrik acid kkoolaid test."
a 10 track voyage in self destruction and discovery
that after all ive put into it
Im honestly proud of and
I hope speaks fot itself
as a testament of
where JJKM came from and a vision of where its going in the future.
