We moved into our new house on March 2nd. There's plenty of room here to meet our family's needs for many years. Note our new address--the authorities named our gravel road and renumbered the 3 houses on it.
K.L.'s parents and oldest sister, May-Wah, came to stay with us from July 17th through September 21st. The children appreciated the time getting to know their grandparents. Nancy appreciated the help with babysitting, laundry and yardwork.
Nancy and Grace drove up to Rhode Island with the little children and May-Wah in August. They gathered together with her family to celebrate the 25th Wedding Anniversary of her brother Neal and his wife, Gretchen.

* The older girls continue to take Chinese Folk Dance and learn the Mandarin language. * The children entered many contests in the county fair and were recognized for their efforts. Joyce was excited about winning a mountain bike in a random drawing at the fair.
* Grace (16) received her driver's license, plays violin in the Winston-Salem Youth Symphony, and is a lead dancer in the Greensboro Chinese Association Dance Troupe. * Constance turned 13 this year. As is our tradition, daddy took the debutante out on a fancy date--flowers, balloons, new outfits, and dinner for two at a 5-star restaurant. * Joyce (11) has a new Labrador Retriever puppy. She named her "Starbucks" because she is brown like coffee. Does anybody have any dog-training tips to share? * Carol (9) raised 3 litters of kittens. We only kept one female, and named her "Twinkle-toes." It was a fun and educational project, but there won't be any more kittens. * Serene (7) is a budding artist, with her own room in which to be creative. * Christian (6) has grown as tall as his older sister, Serene. * Victor (4) and his grandfather have grown very fond of each other. * Mercy (2) got cuter. Her big sisters enjoy dressing her up. * Sterling (1) walks and is starting to say a few words. |
