What We Are About
The purpose of the K.L. Chia Family is to enjoy God and glorify Him forever.
To enjoy God, we would seek Him, spend time with Him in prayer and praise, in fellowship and worship, in reading and meditating on His love letter and life manual to us, the Bible, in private or with other believers.
To glorify God, we are to bear much fruit. Jesus said in John 15:8, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit."
There are 7 types of fruit that is found in the Bible. The following list came from Bill Gothard, which we have personalized.
The fruit of the womb. The first command that God gave to man was: "Be fruitful, and multiply ..." (Genesis 1:28).
The fruit of the Gospel. (Romans 1:13-16) We are to be involved in the various stages of soul-winning and disciple-making--planting, watering, harvesting, training. Jesus' Great Commission to us is to go into all the world and make disciples.
The fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23) We are to grow to be more Christ-like in our character and conduct.
The fruit of giving. (Philippians 4:16-18) The mystery of God is that if we give, it shall be given back to us, good measure, pressed down and running over, that we will have more to continue to give.
The fruit of our lips. (Proverbs 18:21, Hebrews 13:15) We shall eat of the fruit that our tongue sows. Let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.
The fruit of righteousness. (Hebrews 12:11) Righteousness will impact society.
The fruit of good works. (Matthew 5:16) Good works done through the initiative and control of the Holy Spirit and motivated by love is a powerful and lasting fruit for the Lord.
To glorify God forever, to bear lasting fruit, we must be dependent on God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that He is the vine, and we are the branches, without Him, we can do nothing that lasts.
May God bless you and your family richly.
