Starting in August, 2009...
I find it a bit ironic to move all around the U.S. and wind up back in MD, where I went to high school 20+ years ago. :)I lived in Central Florida from July 2005 to August 2009.
I liked it in this area - there are other things to do besides the theme parks - but I switched employers for various reasons, and had to relocate. While I was here I enjoyed a lot of running and biking, mild winters and hot/humid summers. :) I tried skydiving (tandem), surfing, went to Japan on a runners club exchange program, was on a 12 person relay team that did a 175 mile event, and probably some other stuff I can't think of right now.
I lived in the Pacific Northwest from April 1997 to July 2005.
I've lived in sunnier places, but I also remember spending most of the year hiding inside from heat and humidity. Since I moved to Washington I've taken up several outdoor activities such as running, biking, and triathlon. I also have easy access to the mountains for snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, backpacking, camping, and so forth.
The area is beautiful!

I lived in Houston, Texas for over 10 years, attending the University of Houston from 1986-1990 (obtaining a BSEE), grad school at UH from 1990-1993 (working on an MSEE I didn't finish), and Rice Univerity from 1993-1995 (obtaining an MCS).
Before that I lived in Silver Spring, MD for 3 years (10th-12th grades at Springbrook High School).
Let's just say my family moved fairly often. I lived in Frankfurt, West Germany for 3 years (7th-9th grade at Frankfurt American Junior High School from 1980-1983) and loved it. I had a great opportunity to travel throughout much of western Europe. Yes, I know West Germany is now just Germany. But when I lived in Frankfurt, there was a West Germany and an East Germany - the Iron Curtain was still up!
I also lived a short period of time in New York, NY, and Brunswick, GA, and Grand Prairie, TX. Before that, a few other cities too...
I've lost touch with people over the years, so send some mail if you know me!
