this is how a Pappilon or a Phalene looks like ...

It's a small toy-dog, with long, slightly waving hair. His Maximum height is 28 cm and
he may weigh maximum 5 kg. the coat is well filled with white as head-colour
and red or black signatures.
They are lively and happy, with a very soft charakter. friendly with strangers, but...
still a guarddoggy...

Nearly quadrat from build, but slightly longer then heigh. It has a fine, small head with a impressionistic face and a well haired tail.
It's good character and his elegant showing makes that he has a lot of fans.

light build, but this does not mean that he is a weak brother... not at all. the Belgian Spaniel has a lot of reduction and a lot of them reach an old age (untill 17 à 18 years old.).

when the ears wich are decorated with frills, are weared upstanding, we are speaking about a butterfly dog (Papillon), are they weared hanging down, are we speaking about a night butterfly dog (Phalene)
