CB Lane Registers First Career INT

While the Warriors didn't fair well most of last Thursday's contest, Cornerback Denny Lane did get to take home a souvernir from the game. Lane picked off a Big Tymers pass in the 2nd half and returned it for a significant gain before being deflagged short of the goal line. The interception was the only takeaway recorded by the Warriors in their inaugural game.

Lane, who also caught two passes including a sideline catch where he barely got his toes in bounds, played wide receiver on offense and rotated between cornerback, safety, and linebacker on defense, filling in for players as they stepped off the field for a breather. Thursdays game was Lane's first organized football game and he started it off well with a high end over end punt-off sent deep into enemy territory. Currently, he is competing with Jeff Haupt for the punting duties. According to Chase Waggoner, the player responsible for punting duties for next week's games will probably be game-time decisions.
