Klaus Gerstenmayer was born 1965 in Herzogenburg, Lower Austria, where he went to school, and absolved the polytechnic institute.
He completed his apprenticeship as a baker and confectioner, absolved his military service 1985 at the air base battailon 1 in Langenlebarn, adventurously and he jobbed highly motivated crosswise trough Lower Austria and landed finally 1989 in Vienna, where he was active for a famous insurance company.

Entrance into the Federal Ministry for foreign affairs
1990: Human resources department
1991- 98: Section of economical policy
1999: Trasfer to the permanent representation of Austria to the European Union in Brussels
2006: Transfer to the Austrian embassy in Sofia, where he is active since September 2006.
Klaus Gerstenmayer is married and since 2004 father of a son, the second son was born in April 2007.
He bears the austrian citicenship.
Since 1994 he is an officer and since 2006 deputy general commander of the order of the sword of St.Michael.
Further education:
1988-98: Study in modern and applied arts at the artistic people's high school in Vienna IX
1997-98: Gold forging manifacturing course at the studio Nadja Ali in Vienna III
1994-97: Language diploma oral and writing course in Chinese (Mandarin) with Professor Trappl at the diplomatic academy in Vienna X
1995: Language scholarship in Chinese at the University of Peking
Creativity and work:
In his literary works Klaus Gerstenmayer dedicates himself mainly to Science Fiction in the form of short stories, experiences also, periods where he brings to paper his lyric effusions as prosaic poems. His graphically passions express themselves in subtile and profound drawigns, in the mystic and mythic Fatasy category, all together completely framed behind glass. He understands also to impress his public with the art of the water colour, predominantly with unobtusive sensual and erotic impressions.
