| This is what my car looked like when I started. When I got it in June of 2001 from Motorcar Investments in Raleigh North Carolina there were 97,500 miles on the clock and it seemed to be in great working order. Of course I was stuck with the gotta have it mentality and even though I thought I had gone over everything I needed to know about the car I was mistaken. I trusted the dealers opinion and didn't take it to a third party just to be sure. Well I have payed for that many times over. So far I have replaced: Some of the AC lines Refilled the R134 A twice because I didn't check the AC lines the first time. The Brake Fluid (the PO had some how gotten water in the bake lines, and the dealer didn't even check the brake fluid in the comprehensive service that he did) Turn signal relay The Clutch (let me tell you how happy I was about that) There are still some things that I need to replace or fix: The AC control unit in the car The Sunroof motor and gears (I think I'm gonna try and retro fit a manual roof) Windshiled Washer Fluid Bottle and Pump Cruise Control Module Rear Winshield Wiper I think that pretty much covers it. The Cruise Control Module, Windshield Washer Bottle and Pump, and Rear Windsield wiper are going to be tossed because I think the hassle of fixing them is not worth the time, and getting rid of them will help the car shed a few pounds. Speaking of Shedding a few pounds I replaced the factory seats with a set for Sparco Pro 2000's and took out the back seat. To me the seats are much better for driving, getting in and out is an issue, but all together I think I have saved 120lbs from the car. |
| Two months after I purchased the car I had updated the rolling rubber and the suspension to give the car a whole new charcter. While the stock 951 is no slouch the addition of a Leda Coil over suspension with HyperCoil Springs from Racer Edge Inc and Kuhmo Supra Ecsta Tires wrapped around OEM 993 Cup rims have transformed this car into the best handling car I have ever driven. I can strongly recomend dealing with the Racers Edge, check out their website and talk to Karl he is very knolegeable about these cars and was a big help while I was setting mine up. Next up for this car are some braking improvments and then some engine work, we will see if we can make this Turbo fly. |
