From Bygdebok fra Gyland: "Tron Annensen was the next man on the farm.He was a good man like his father. We find his name in the estate settlement letter and in the old documents when he was named as a jurist. He owned the whole of land, his 3 sons, Ola, Torjus and Salve got his own farm. Ola, who was oldest, got the first choice and he took West Kleiva even though the farm only had 3 eng on the tax roll compared with 4-1/2 on each of the east farms. This was the reason for the legal procedure between the descendants later. There were lawsuits in 1755, 1778, and 1802. The men on the west farm wanted compensation from the other two because the farm was smaller, but they did not win. The west farm was generally called "Hinsgarden" (they under farm), and has been in the same family for over 300 years.

From the Bygdbok fra Gyland:
"Anen Jonson is the first written "Adne" or "Odne", but later is"Anen". There is a settlement after him in 1668(1688?) and it is so interesting that I will give more details.
There are 3 jurors that came together: Mads Hansen, Tosten and Ola Fosdal. 'We were at Klefuen (Kleiva) in Gyland Sogn, Fedde assembly,ot hold a final settlement of the estate about what free land and what property there was after the death on Aanen Jonsen and the living woman, Aagod Svendsdatter and their children, namely Tron and Sven Aanensons. Since Sven is in Copenhagen, our dealing will be with his mother's brother, Alf Svendson, along with Torgrom Voilås and Aasel Nedland for the women behalf, namely Ingerid and Gunhild, Aanen's daughters.' Other property listed is : 6 cows at 3 Rdr, 1 heifer at 1Rdr, 1 "øg" at 3 Rdr. [was this misspelled from 'øk', a horse?], small animals amont others at 103/4 Rdr., a copper kettle and pans at 13Rdr., 1 silver belt at 8 Rdr, 2 silver chains and ring at 3 Rdr, 2 ort and others. They have a (___) at Torgrim Voilas at 40 Rdr. with mortgage of 4 eng. "There is a mortgage on 20 acres of Lauritz Eitlandsklef for 30 Rdr.". There is also a long list of people in the bygd who owe money; also Fjotlander (West Agder) people; Sigbjørn Harbakk 4 Rdr, and Torgeir Kvinlog 3 Rdr.
"Landed property, which is 3 eng in the farm Klefuen, each brother's share 1 engt, and each sister's share 1/2 eng.
What Sven Aanensen's share will be, what belongs to Tron as the oldest brother, with free and fixed goods together which will be Sven's when he comes home, what mother Aagod Svensdotter receives, she has been given all the land which she received with the death of the aforementioned (Anen), then her children will receive it after her lifetime, in all 618 Rdrl-12"
This was a remarkable affluence on this hard worked farm. A silverbelt of 8 Rdr. which is worth 2-1/2 cows. A copper kettle and pans at 13 Rdr which is worth more than 3 cows. The outstanding claim at Fjotland (West Agder) which must mean that he was a business man as so many Gylanders were at the time. Since son Sven is in Copenhagen, he was surely called up for the guard serve to the king as were so many Norse youth during the Danish control.

[My original notes listed Alv Gyland as the father of Alf Svensen Gyland, which clearly does not make sense]
