Well we were there with the "Greatest Night" ever approaching and no one knew what to do! This was the first time for many years that no party had been pre-arranged! So we were at a loss!
However we had been invited to Kev's party, (the infamous Kev from Tenerife!) So On New Years Eve, keeping with our philosophy on arranging things in advance, we decide what to go!
Well the party was however in Reading, and as such we had to find a way of getting us down to Reading with not a great deal of notice!
At the time Roberto had the use of the car (which his moronic brother has now managed to steal!) So we packed the 4 of us in the car and off we went!
Perhaps now would be a good time to explain who went down, well there obviously was me, Rob, and accompanying us was Nippo and Andy (Yes another one!) Other people with more definite ideas had travelled there previously, including the Horn, Majik, and Alison (All of tenerife fame!) Oh yeah and Dave and his missus were there as well, also culpable in Tenerife!
Well it started off at DA Horns house. Here we got ready and had a few pre piss-up drinks! We then walked down to Kev's house, to join the real party!
The house was masive, and was pure student heaven, alcohol was flowing so much that by the time we arrived people were throwing themselves down the stairs at us! We knew very few people at the party, but after much hunting we found Alison and Kev, in Kev's room.
To be truthful the night started quite slow, none of us knowing what to expect. We had a few moments worthy of remembering, Dave announced that he and his missus (don't remember her name!) were going to get married! And someone has a photo of Dave and Da Horn kissing!!!
However the party did not get truely going till the dawn of the New Year, when hundreds of people packed into the Cellar of the house and counted down New Year, and then showered everyone with Champagne!
Well everyone soon gathered on the London Road in Reading, and a Conga started down and around the road. However this was short lived and soon people just did the ritual screaming and hugging!
At about 12:30 we sang that "crappy song" (can't spell it so I won't!) and we started to stop the cars in the street! Prime suspect in this, was the party's very own DWARF!
As all good party's have to have, the police soon turned up, and contrary to the police scaring everyone away into the house, they brought more people out onto the street, and people were opening up the car and offering champagne about!! We do have pictures somewhere of people lying across the car bonnets of the police cars!
Around this time some girl was dancing around singing that it was her Birthday tomorrow, and as you should ALL know, it was mine too! However it took me a while longer to realise it, well anyway soon my "Twin Sister" as she became known was pissed up and dancing with us!
We also as part of this party had free entrance to the It's A Scream pub over the road, and we did venture over there where I proceded to kick everyones ass at Table football!! Oh yeah and Rob took a big shit!
As my memory fades so does this epic, however I do remember walking back to Horn's singing Jerusalem and laughing at Rob fall into every hedge that was available!
