Ripley turns to walk away, Meredith jogs after Ripley.
 MEREDITH
Hey, Rip, why don?t you have lunch with us?
 RIPLEY
 Eh?
  MEREDITH
I know George knows. About your parents.
 RIPLEY
I don?t want to push him. He?s already had to spend all morning and part of the afternoon with me.
 MEREDITH
He likes you Rip. A lot. Come hang out.
 RIPLEY
I should start the write up of the these test results?
 MEREDITH
You never get to hang out with us for lunch. Come on. It?ll be fun.
 RIPLEY
I really need to start working on my analysis of the test results. I?m fine Mer. Seriously.
 MEREDITH
Now you?re starting to sound like me. If you won?t eat lunch with us, I?ll come with you.
 RIPLEY
Mer?
 MEREDITH
Seriously.
 RIPLEY
Fine.
 MEREDITH
Fine.
INT.HOSPITAL - RIPLEY?S OFFICE
Ripley sits in her chair with her legs tucked underneath her and a sandwich in her hand. Meredith sits on the couch with her feet on the coffee table.
 RIPLEY
So, real reason you wanted to eat lunch with me?
 MEREDITH
Avoiding Derek.
 RIPLEY
Ahh. There she is. Avoidant Meredith is back.
 MEREDITH
Derek asked me to New York for Christmas.
 RIPLEY
Mer. How can you turn that down? It would be absolutely gorgeous.
 MEREDITH
Easy. McFamily.
 RIPLEY
Mer. Go. Have fun. Meet the McFamily. Bond with Derek. Buy me something pretty while you?re there.
 MEREDITH
But I?m a homewrecker. I broke up Addison and Derek.
 RIPLEY
I think Mark and Addison broke up Addison and Derek.
 MEREDITH
But Prom?
 RIPLEY
Mer. Addison slept with Mark way before you even knew that Derek had a wife. Just go. Everything will be fine.
 MEREDITH
You and George?
 RIPLEY
I?m much better at solving other people?s problems. Seriously.
 MEREDITH
It?s not really a problem. George is a good guy. An amazing kisser. And a good guy.
 RIPLEY
Yeah, he is a pretty good kisser. He?s pretty good at other things, too. Damn, healing hands can do more than heal.
 MEREDITH
You?re horrible you know that.
Meredith laughs.
 RIPLEY (giggling)
 I know.
INT.HOSPITAL ? JEREMY?S ROOM
Meredith and Ripley enter the room giggling and laughing. Ripley holds a binder. Christina, Alex and George are staring at them.
 CHRISTINA
Where were you guys for lunch?
 MEREDITH
 Ripley?s office.
 CHRISTINA
I could have used some estrogen at the table.
 GEORGE
 You had Izzy.
 CHRISTINA
Izzy is too optimistic for her own good.
 RIPLEY
Okay, guys. Let?s get back to the tests at hand. How ya doin? there Jeremy?
 JEREMY
Tired. How many more do I have left?
 RILPEY
A couple. This is the last test for the day, though. It?s a two parter.
Ripley opens the binder and pulls out a piece of paper and a pencil. Pulls the little table closer to Jeremy.
 RIPLEY
Now, this test is a little bit easier. I want you to connect the circles with numbers in them in sequential order until there aren?t any more numbers, then connect it to end. If you make a mistake, just go from the last right circle and continue on.
Ripley pulls a timer out of her binder. She pushes the start button.
 RIPLEY
 Go.
Derek enters the room.
 DEREK
 What did-
 RIPLEY
 Shh?
Ripley hands Derek her copy of the test with directions on it.
 JEREMY
 Done.
Ripley stops the stop watch and makes notes in her binder. She takes the test away, then gives Jeremy another piece of paper.
 RIPLEY
Okay. The next part of the test has numbers and the letters A-L. For this one, you?re going to alternate between drawing lines between the letters and numbers in sequential order. Now if you make a mistake, same as last time. Go from the last correct line.
 JEREMY
Okay.
Ripley starts the stopwatch.
 RIPLEY
 Go.
