Whoever said "Sunshine brings happiness" never danced in the rain.
Hi. I'm Kaela. If you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a camera whore. Anyways, I'm for the most part going to devote this site to my poetry-- something I've been neglecting for the past couple of months. Granted, I won't post every single work of mine, only the ones I feel worthy of sharing with you. Have a nice day, enjoy.
The Storm
Sand covered toes and tears on her nose
Invisible chains weigh her down
The wind twirls her hair and gulls scream in the air
But this little girl makes no sound
Distant lightning flash and sea waves crash
To the oncoming storm she is blind
She's immune to the pain and cannot feel the rain
She's deep within her mind
The storm was quite near but she hadn't a fear
She wanted to end this now
Water level made haste and was now at her waist
She wanted to run, but how?
Friends tried to teach her and friends tried to reach her
And tell her it would be alright
But they must have failed because she won't prevail
She's going to lose this fight
An ignorant guy she'd been broken by
Had taught her heart to fear
She sank in the sea but at least now she's free
And she shall shed no more a tear

Ode To a Lost Friend
A single tear rolled down her cheek
As she thought of the love she lost.
She hated to think how in this cruel world
Everything came at a cost.
A single word could make or break
A friendship that lasted years.
How could she find someone else
To wipe away her tears?
She wished forgiveness could come into play,
And everything would be alright.
Not tossing and turning and pulling out her hair
Replaying the daily fight.
But things didn't work out and he'd made it quite clear:
He didn't want her by his side.
He didn't care how much she hurt
Or how much late at night she cried.
She tried to be there as best she could
And not let her dear friend down.
But "I wish I could save all the tears you made me cry,
So with them I could make you cry."
So she gave up trying to love him.
She gave up trying to care.
She gave up trying to live her life
Trying to always be there.
Every passing moment
It got easier to live
Not having to waste her time
On something that refused to give.
Unsure of the other's feelings,
That's the way things stayed.
But even though things are over,
There are a million memories I wouldn't trade.
So now that it's really over
Is the only time I see
How much I loved him deep inside
And what a great friend he was to me.
As I sit and watch
The time drifts away
Beyond my touch it drifts
Swallowed by the days
Until I look upon you
Your facade a moment to keep
Within my precious memory
Alone I sit and weep
Time
Time has no mercy
All confine to obey
This entity reveals itself
Only where it may
A reflection of the past
The future of a vision
Plead no more upon deaf ears
For it shall never listen
Navagation
