Act 9 : Moratoriamu no Shokuzai : Moratorium Atones
At last, Miyazawa must reap what she has sown. As she sheds her false front of elegance and perfection, the other girls in her class begin to resent her for fooling them and befriending the two most popular boys in the school. The anger is triggered by Isawa Maho, who resented Miyazawa for taking the number one spot that she used to hold. Also coming into the picture is Shibahime Tsubasa, a beautiful little girl in Class 1D, returning to school after being hospitalized. Tsubasa, as it turns out, has been Arima's friend since they were young, and though he only thought of her as a younger sister, she monopolized his attentions. Until she discovered that he had a girlfriend. Resentful and angry, Tsubasa wages an all-out street fight against Miyazawa, and as Yukino is also being isolated by her classmates, the situation does not look hopeful...

Act 10 : Subete Ha Kore Kara : Beginning Here
Tsubasa's friends approach Miyazawa and apologize for the way Tsubasa is acting. After one of their street fights, her friends ask Yukino if she would like to go to the cafeteria with them. As they are talking, Miyazawa tells them about her infatuation with being number one, and how she is shedding that front. The other girls introduce themselves as Sakura Tsubaki (star volleyball player), Sawada Aya (professional author), and Sena Rika (arts and crafts extraordinaire). (Tsubasa sulks in a corner.) Upon seeing Miyazawa with the girls from class 1D, Maho finally cannot remain the silent ringleader, and instigates a showdown between herself and Miyazawa. Afterwards, Miyazawa discovers that Tsubasa has done a vicious thing, and their street fight escalates to an all-out slaughter. Afterwards, Miyazawa discovers that suddenly she has five new friends and some new insight on how life, love and jealousy operate.

Act 11 : Natsu Yasumi no Hajimari : At The Beginning of Summer Vacation
The first semester has come to a close, and Miyazawa and Arima will be apart for a long time as he goes to participate in the Inter-High kendo competition and attend training camps. However, Miyazawa consoles herself with the fact that she has made new friends and will spend the summer with them. They go out for a day on the town kareokeing, shopping, and eating. However, when the day is over, Tsubasa latches onto Miyazawa and reveals that she intends to run away from home in protest to her father's remarriage. Upset that her father is allowing "that woman" into their home, Tsubasa declares that he will open his eyes when he realizes she is gone. Maho is also roped into coming along (a slap on the shoulder and a "We're friends, right?" from Miyazawa), and the three of them go to Yukino's house for the night.

Act 12 : Shiawase no Arika? : Is There Happiness?
Tsubaki, upon discovering that Tsubasa is staying with Miyazawa, rushes over to drag Tsubasa back home. Tsubasa refuses to go, but Tsubaki tells her that she has told her father, and he will be over shortly. On her way home, she talks with Miyazawa and tells her about Tsubasa's past as an only child of a single parent. Her mother passed away during her birth, so her father cherished the baby girl, though he had to work a lot and Tsubasa was often cared for by other people. On the subject of remarriage, Tsubasa rejects support of any kind and insists that she needs only her father. However, Tsubaki and Miyazawa agree that Tsubasa's needs have not been met for a long time. When Mr. Shibahime arrives at the Miyazawa household, he and his daughter exchange some heated words, and Yukino's parents offer to take care of Tsubasa for the night to allow her some time to cool down. Tsubasa, alone in Miyazawa's room, wonders if this is what an ordinary family is like, and if Arima was attracted to that about Miyazawa. She states that men are all the same... they are nice to you, but always end up choosing another woman...
