MESSAGE FROM DR DAVID YOUNG, ABRSM REGIONAL CONSULTANT

Welcome to today's High Scorers' Concert. We are delighted that following the success of the first High Scorers Concert of Kota Kinabalu we are able to present this, the second such concert. May there be many more!

There is a significant difference between the two concerts, however. Whereas last year the performers were drawn from Kota Kinabalu only, this year the selection net has been cast wider to include the whole of Sabah . The honour of being selected is therefore all the greater!

High Scorers Concerts are held all over the world and celebrate the achievements of those who study to play musical instruments or to sing and achieve high marks in their Associated Board examinations.

I would like to congratulate not just those who are performing today but all successful candidates in Sabah , as well as their teachers and parents, who have directed and supported their musical studies.

I also express my special thanks to Helen Tseu, Chairman of the Kota Kinabalu Music Society and all her colleagues, who have been responsible for organising today's wonderful celebration.
