     Cross Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, the Canal Bridge & immediately turn 
     left (North) onto Chouteau Pl Rd.  Turn right a foot of levee & bear 
     right up onto the levee to the bicycle trail.
     (You will reach Alton, IL about 32 miles from lafayette park.)
