Laffy Taffy
Tri-color smooth
DayDream Miss Sarah x All Seasons Nimble
Taffy is a small girl, only 11". Her size has only encouraged her to learn how to fend for herself with brothers who tower over her by 2 inches. So she has become a tough, smart little girl (See story below). She's built alot like her grandmother, DayDream Mini Pearl, who tops out at about 11 3/4" and has recently earned an NHC to possum. Taffy's sire, Nimble, also tops out at about that height. Nimble has also been hunted and not only does well in conformation(he's earned a Best Open Terrier), but also produces hunters and winners. Taffy's dam, DayDream Miss Sarah, has placed 2nd in conformation as both a pup and an adult.
Taffy placed 3rd in 9-12 mo smooth bitch pups conformation under Judge Linda Cowasjee at the 2002 SWJRTN Spring Fling in Denton, Tx.

Not long ago I was investigating a lot of commotion outside near the dogs. Since they were going nuts and I couldn't see why, I suspected a snake. When I arrived I found Taffy with a swollen head darting at a small baby copperhead (babies have a more concentrated venom than adults). When she saw me coming she quickly grabbed the snake in her mouth and it proceeded to grab her. When she finally dropped the snake I dropped a patio stone on it. While she looked for more snakes to kill I searched also. I found an adult and two other babies she had already dispatched. After consulting the vet I was told to keep an eye on her, give her benedryl and get her out of the heat. I was informed that copperheads weren't that toxic to dogs, the danger being in if the snake bit a vein or the dog went into shock. We both agreed that neither had happened to Taffy who twenty minutes after the incident was looking for more trouble. I gave Taffy a benedryl and took her to DayDream kennel where they generously let her stay in the air-conditioned puppy house and treated her with an antihistimine/antibiotic combination. Within a day or so the swelling was gone with no other signs of the snake bites ever appearing. How's that for a tough little dog?
