Classroom Animals of Past & Present

These animals have provided close-up and hands-on learning
for many students over the years. They also help to create an interesting
environment in our classroom.




The Vivarium: Our classroom's newest animal habitat. Donated by Alex L. June 2008.





Chilean Rose-haired Tarantula: Native to South America.





Western Hognose Snake: Hatched in 1988.
Died in 2006 at the age of 18.





Eastern Box Turtle: Acquired in 1985.
Estimated age is about 50 years old.





Bearded Dragons: Native to Australia.





Carolina Anole: Native to the southern U.S.





Leopard Gecko: Native to the Middle East.





Common Snapping Turtle: Michigan's largest species of turtle.





Ball Python: Native to western Africa.





Red-eared Slider: Native to the southern U.S.





Eastern Garter Snake: Michigan's most common snake.





Spotted Salamander: Native to Michigan.
