Kummerċ Ġust will be taking part in the second
edition of the Reclaim the World event
organized by
Moviment Graffitti
in Freedom Square,
Valletta,
on Saturday 16th October,
2004,
from 9am to 9pm.
The full-day of activities
includes a live concert, discussions, NGO information stands and
other activities. James Farrugia (right), a member of
Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust,
will be leading a discussion about Fair Trade.
"The Reclaim the World activity aims to
promote social justice, peace, social inclusion, diversity, tolerance,
human rights, equality and youth empowerment," said Moviment Graffitti,
which is a member of various networks and organisations that are active
in favour of global justice, such as the
European Social Forum and Peoples' Global Action. The activity is also
coinciding with Moviment Graffitti's 10th year since being officially
founded.

Live concert
Reclaim the World shall also include a
Djembe Session led by renowned percussionist Zizza and a live concert
featuring top acts Dripht, Subculture, Explicit,
Congo Bon Chic, Walter Micallef,
and Particle Blue.
Various Non-Governmental Organisations shall participate in the Reclaim
the World activity. Apart from Moviment Graffitti, these include, Nature
Trust, General Workers Union Youth, Malta Gay Rights Movement, Malta
Council of Disabled Persons, National Youth Council, Ghaqda Zghazagh
tax-Xellug, Żminijietna, Peta (Malta), The
Arts Collective, El Diablo del Mar, Reciprocal Records,
Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust,
Gaia Foundation, Amnesty International (Malta),
and Third World Group. Various NGOs shall set
up information stands and distribute information material.

Reclaim the World is endorsing the
Consultation Meeting on Malta's National Strategy on Sustainable
Development, organised by the National Youth Council at St James
Cavallier, Friday 15th October, 1730hrs.
