Eritrean Ethnic Meal

Tour starts at 7.00pm – Meal at 8.00pm

Display of hand-made products by refugees in Malta


A Unique Fund-Raising Event organised by

Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust and the Third World Group

at GAIA Foundation, Għajn Tuffieħa

(on the way to Golden Bay, just before reaching Apple’s Eye Bar)

 

The expert cooks are Sofia, Ascalou and Haddas, three Eritrean  women who are refugees in Malta

 
 
 

Menu of Eritrean Traditional Food

 The price of LM4.75 includes

 

Drink: Soua This is an alcoholic drink made from oranges, rice and sugar.

 

Starter: Ambasha This is a sweet bread, made from eggs, sugar and currants.

Served with Maltese traditional bigilla, ġbejniet and galletti.

 

Main: Ngera A kind of big pancake filled with carrots, lettuce, potato, cauliflower, tomato and lemon.

Served with couscous and rice.

 

Dessert: Kecha These are biscuits or wafers made from wheat, oil, sugar and eggs.

 

Buna or Gahwa (Tea or Coffee) Served with corn.

Other drinks can be bought at the bar.

 
 
 
 

All this will be served at 0800pm, in the beautiful outside area of Gaia Foundation Centre, with Eritrean background music.

 

For those who wish to visit the Centre and enjoy its beauty during the daylight, we suggest you arrive at about 0700pm, so that you will have time to go around.

 

There will also be a display of hand-made products by refugees in Malta.
