This is the list of the tracks that are on other cds.
On Wind at My Back, Road to Avonlea, and Anne- One and Two = Wind at My Back
Gil Supports Anne = Barbara Allen ~ I love this. It's so pretty. I'm not sure why it's on the Anne soundtrack because it's never played in the movie. I found the sheet music to it, different of course, and I figured out the left hand, but I can't get the timing right. My mother will have to help me get it.
Honeys Reunion (Two) = May The Wind Be Ever at Your Back
Felicity's Fussed = A Minuet
similar to: Hub Bailey's First Job (One) = Irish Mischief
Hornpipe (RtA) 46 seconds = Wind Hornpipe 2:24
A New Family (Two) = Close of Day (different key and longer)
Sara's First Love = The Forgotten Lass
Felix and Blackie 1:14 = Playing for Pennies 2:14
A Scottish Ode... not certain...
Hornpipe (RtA) 46 seconds = Maritime Hornpipe 46 seconds (different key than Wind Hornpipe)
Journey to the South 1:51 = High Seas 1:49
This is my review of the rest of the tracks. The tracks in brackets are the titles of the ones that are duplicates. I inserted them so you could tell the running order.
Medly of Celtic Mists- has Wind music in there, but most I don't recognize.
(Barbara Allen above)
My Heart's in the Highlands- This is Malcolm's theme music I believe. This too is very pretty. At the beginnig it has some cords that are heard in other songs (such as the end of Gil Supports Anne... might be a French Horn), but after they finish it goes into My Heart's in the Highlands.
My Heart's in the Highlands Variation- It's a big variation. You wouldn't really notice that it was a variation. A little bit of the beginning is heard in HCMK and a little bit in the middle is heard in WaMB. Only the beginning sounds like MHitH. umm... the little bit heard in HCMK *might* be on the Anne3 soundtrack, but it's so short, it's not enough to figure it out... same with WaMB. This is a clip at Sullivan Boutique.
The Molly MacGuires: This one is heard in "The Forever Leap" in WaMB. It's pretty... kinda eery. Some of the cords are just like "What Wondrous Love is This".
The Ohio River- This is an interesting piece... doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard on a Sullivan production... but I haven't seen everything.
I Gave a Letter to My Love- Same as the last one.
To You I Will Be True: I sang this one in choir. I know it's a folk song, but I'm not sure what the original name is. ~googles~ no ~checks hymn book~ Says Appalachian Folk Melody. In the hymn book it's to the the words of "When I Survey". I can't stand it; it sounds so horrible and wrong. Googled the few lyrics that I remembered from the choir song (I leaned my back on a fine oak does wonders ;)) and found the midi file and words. http://www.contemplator.com/england/water.html It's a very beautiful arrangement. BTW, I love that site. You can find all sorts of RtA music on there.
To You I Will Be True ~ Variation: Like the other variation, it'd take a while before you figured it out. The tune is there, but it's really different.
Snow and Rain: This sounds like something you'd hear in WaMB. Very pretty and mystical.
The Kiss Goodbye: Okay, lets just put it at, all the soundtracks are pretty. This one sounds like something that would play with Captain Crane when he's talking about Eliza.
Women of Ireland: This is an interesting one... it has a cello in it and it sounds very nice. It's kind of a weird track.
A Gothic Church: heh Well... um... It sounds like something that belongs in Link: Orcarina of Time... in the temple... heh It sounds like something that belongs in a monestary. It has guys (maybe just done from a keyboard) going um... "aahhh".
Celtic Prologue: I'd say that this on is well named because after it it seems as though the Celtic music really starts. (next track is May the Wind Be Ever at Your Back... which is a lovely song, but it doesn't sound like the song it's named after :b... sang that in choir too.)
(May Wind... to Irish Mischief)
The Merry Go Round: This is an interesting piece... doesn't really sound like merry-go-round music to me... it sounds WaMB-ish.
(Wind Hornpipe to Playing for Pennies)
Scottish Ode: This sounds very WaMB-ish and that's why I'm not sure if it's on any of the soundtracks. I think it might be played in RtA episode "The More Things Change". I don't think that it's on any of the other soundtracks though.
Farewell to Nova Scotia: Oh, I wish this one were longer than eighteen seconds! There has to be a longer version because what's on the soundtrack is played in Return to Me when Felicity and Hetty board the boat. It's so pretty and uplifting too!
(Hornpipe to Highseas)
Miss Stacey's Jig- I think it's played when Izzy and Morgan fight over her bloomers. I think it also plays in HCMK when Hetty drives through town and the girl and the store says "Miss King just went by, time to open." This is one of the soundclips for the cd at Sullivan Boutique.
Overall, this is a wonderful soundtrack and if you're able to buy it, I recommend getting it. :)
