More Fiji...

Nananu-I-Ra was the second island we stayed on.  It was on the north-east side of Viti Levu, the big island of Fiji.  We stayed in traditional Fijian thatch hut bures like the one below.

And, as if life wasn't hard enough, we spent our days on Turtle Beach where we were frequently the only ones around.   Aaaahhhh. ..this is paradise!

FYI:  Mana Backpackers has an all-inclusive package with meals and lodging for about $25FJ a day.  Charges are pretty minimal for snorkelling trips and island-hopping day trips as well.

We stayed at Kontiki on Nananu-I-Ra which really was lovely and cost about $15F a night, if memory serves.  Not much to do there other than laze the day away in hammocks, swim in the ocean, or walk along the beach but if you're looking for a very laid-back atmosphere, this is an ideal spot.
