Wesak Day Celebration
Wesak Day Celebration
AT KKDS MELAKA
7th May, 2001
by Ven. Lama Suman

In the morning of Wesak Day Eve, Lama Suman and 3 other lamas performed the Sang Puja.
Seen on the right was scented smoke offering to appease the pretas. This is a very beneficial practice that even lay practitioner is encouraged to perform frequently. Immense merits will be transferred to the realm of hungry ghost and thus free them from the constant hunger. May they reborn in the higher realm where Buddha-Dharma flourish.

108 Tormas were made on the Eve of Wesak Day. At 9:30pm, Buddha Amitayus (Long Life Buddha) and Mahakala puja were conducted for the benefit of sentient beings.

On Wesak Day, the Lamas started the auspicious day with 18 Arahants Puja and lighting of lamp and bathing the Buddha were also performed by the devotees.
Soon after the Arahants Puja, Lama Suman and the devotees released birds and
tortoises. Then the Lamas proceeded with the Green Tara Puja. After the
Puja, vegetarian food was offered to appro.300 devotees who thronged the
KKDS Melaka. This was the first time such large crowd visited the Centre on
Wesak Day.
