JANGCHUB PRAYER
JANGCHUB PRAYER
AT KKDS MELAKA
from 22nd to 24th AUGUST, 2000
by Ven. Lama Thutop
Names of the deceased imprint on the card and displayed on the temporary makeshift altar. It has been a sacred ritual of the Chinese Community throughout Malaysia, this ritual has no religious barrier, whether they are Taoist or Buddhist. The deceased are remembered and the response is normally good whenever there is such an auspicious occasion. This event is held at correct time as it was the Ghost Festival. This Chinese belief is still practised till today
The Vajra Master, Ven. Lama Thutop from Chinghai Thrangu Monastery. Lama had come of age but his compasionate activities never diminish but grows by the days. This was witnessed by all who attended the prayer session.
Consecration of Bardo Takdol (Blanket) in progress before handing out to the devotees. The Blanket meant for the dead and will be very useful during the Intermediate State between death and rebirth.
The Vajra Master performing Tshog Offering to the 52 peaceful and 48 Wrathful Deities of the Bardo Mandala. Separate offering were also offered to the local deity to appease them and thus pave way for a smooth commencement of the ritual. During the offering ritual, one has to visualize the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Yidams and all sentient beings enjoying the feast. This activity will reap tremendous merit to the offerer which is so very important to lessen our negative Karma.
Devotees line up to receive their Tshog Offering materials before place on the fire stove for the final offering ritual. Everyone participate in the ritual and in another definition called Smoke Offering.
The clearer the visualization the greater the merit accumulation, if one cannot visualize well then it is best to make aspiration to visualize what the Vajra Master visualizes during the ritual.
Seen here was the attendant of Lama Thutop performing the offering ritual.
