Dear Children
This week our lesson is found in Genesis chapter three. If you have a bible read chapter three first and then come pack to this lesson because it is very important for you to know what is happening in this lesson.
Now that you have read genesis Chapter three , let us discuss it a little bit. We know if we read last week in Genesis chapter one and two that God gave man one commandment to keep .
Adam and his wife were allowed to eat of every tree but one. God gave them warning that they would die. God knew that they would die spiritually. They no longer would be perfect. Their bodies would then be able to feel pain , they would know right from wrong. He knew if they disobeyed him that sin would enter the world and that it would be passed down to every man and woman ever born.
Sin seperates us from God . Because of one man's sin, sin entered the world . Because God can have no part of sin , good can have no part of evil and righteousness can have no part with unrighteousness a way would have to be made that man could be brought back into a perfect relationship with God or to be reconciled. God knew that all of this would happen . God loved his creation and created it all good and perfect . He wanted what was best for us.
He knew the choice the man would make and God had a plan , a most loving plan. Satan was in this tree of knowledge of good and evil and he tricked or decieved Eve. He tempted her with the fruit"s good looks and then he told her a little bit of truth to get her to believe a deadly lie. When she disobeyed and took of that she had been commanded not to , she died spiritually . She also had knowledge of right and wrong , she had not known this before . She offered it to Adam and he also disobeyed God's one and only commandment and ate. He too then became seperated from God by the sin he committed.
Notice the scripture says that they both knew that they were naked and they tried to cover themselves with fig leaves , they tried to make clothing out of fig leaves. They tried to "fix" their condition but they could not. The leaves would not keep them warm in the winter or be able to last in the suns heat. They knew they were naked.
Children, there is a time of innocence in our lives when we are young when we do not know right from wrong . But then when we come to that knowledge of what is right and what is wrong we become aware that we are no longer in the safety of God's eternal protection. In other words, we become aware of sin and that something in our heart just doesnt feel right any more and we want it to be right again . Adam and Eve knew they were naked and they were ashamed. When we become aware that we are separated from God or "lost" there is nothing naturally that we can do on our own to fix it again. We have to go to Jesus , he is the only one who can save us.
Notice God came along and called to Adam. There will be a time in your life when you feel God call your name. When you feel that stirring in your heart that God is wanting to save you. Obey that spirit then , pray and ask God to save you. We must realize we need him.
We must all seek him for our own soul salvation, we must ask him to forgive our sins and we must believe with all our heart that he is the son of God and that he came to save us. . Adams Fig leaves was not going to solve his problem. He had a need , a great spiritual need that needed to be filled. He was naked and needed a covering. It says that God made them coats of skins to cover them... we know that skins came from an animal and that animal had to die to be able to provide that needed coat for Adams nakedness to be covered. Children, this represents and signifies that Christ Jesus , the pure and innocent lamb, the son of God would have to come and give up his life, shed his blood on a cruel cross that we could have a covering for our sins. That covering is salvation by grace through Faith in Jesus. Only through putting our faith in Jesus can we be saved.
I hope that this has explained to you why that Christ would have to come and die for our sins. God will call to you someday and you will know you need that covering , maybe he's calling today , whenever he calls , then is the time children to seek him in prayer . Just give your whole self to him , surrender your life to his will , ask him to forgive you of your sins and ask him to save you. Believe on him with all your heart so that you can have everlasting life. Without Jesus we will have no hope.
Jesus loves you and God loves you so much that he sent Jesus to be that perfect sacrifice for our sins. By his stripes we can be healed.
