| Objectives: Students will research a specific topic pertaining to World War II using printed materials and selected websites. Students will work as a team to create a poster representing the information they found and present the information to the class. Illinois Learning Standard(s): 16.A.2c Ask questions and seek answers by collecting and analyzing data from historic documents, images, and other literary and non-literary sources. Applications of Learning: Communicating, Using Technology and Working on Teams Assignment: Choose one of the following topics that you would like to research more thoroughly: Women in the War The A-Bomb D-Day The Holocaust Weapons, Planes, Ships and Tanks Pearl Harbor Use the websites linked to your topic, along with books and magazines to find interesting information to share with your classmates. This should be information that we did not learn from your textbook or in class. Your group will compile the information and make a poster that you will share with the class on day 2. Each member of the group will be required to present something they discovered from their research. Information SHOULD NOT be copied directly from your sources! NO PLAGARISM! As a group, you will choose three pictures to print off the Internet and three pictures from the books and/or magazines to be photocopied. These pictures will be placed on your poster and should have a caption. Your group will be graded on the amount of information on your poster and how well you present your information to the class. You will also be graded on the visual appeal of the poster, make sure that you spell everything correctly! |
