| The rest is, I guess, history. I spent the next few years in classes and innumerable meetings with the Bishop and the Commission on Ministry. I was ordained to the priesthood as a Canon 9 priest in December of 2001. Some of you were there.
Today is Trinity Sunday, and I havent spent much time talking about the doctrine of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But I dont believe that the Trinity is about doctrine. Its about relationship. The Trinity is God relating to each of us on a personal level. We have a relationship with the Father who wills, the Son who intercedes and the Spirit who lives in us and shows us the way--and occasional gives us a swift kick in the right direction. We have this relationship through the unbelievable, unfathomable love of God. Thanks be to God! Amen. |
