Internship Pieces
My summer 05 internship in The Evangelical Alliance Missions communication department offered me experience in writing for a variety of publications using a variety of writing styles and skills as well as learning about many countries and cultures throughout my research. TEAM is an international mission organization that began in 1890 in the U.S. Midwest and has grown into a multinational alliance with over 150 ministry initiatives worldwide. Below are the various publications for which I wrote during my internship. Please click on the links to see individual clips of my work.

Horizons Magazine
Horizons is a biannual magazine available in print, digital or online versions that features new developments on the mission field and within TEAM. I wrote articles, edited articles, and selected photographs for the Sept. 2005 and June 2006 issues.

Sketches Brochures
Sketches provide brief descriptions of TEAMs ministry initiatives by location. Each Sketch provides a glimpse into the culture as well as a description of the ministry type, so prospective missionaries can find the perfect fit. I wrote over 25 Sketches covering ministries in over 20 countries.

Annual Report

TEAM 2005 Tuning In is the organizations most recent annual report, covering matters from leadership and member care, to vision and finance. I proofread and edited the final draft of the report.

Newsletter/Prayer Journal

This publication updates recipients on new developments and needs of a particular ministry each month, complete with prayer requests from the locations missionaries. I proofread and edited the July 2005 and Aug. 2005 journals.

REAP convention binder

REAP is TEAMs annual convention for TEAM missionaries. The binder for each participant included everything from schedules, to articles, to organizational materials. I created the prototype, using references from each department of the organization.

Office skills: coordinate mass mailings, design and create display for REAP conventions information fair, attend planning meetings for REAP, stamp envelopes, duplicate CDs, scan slides, make copies, answer phones, attend REAP, represent communications department at REAPs info fair, learn and use EFO information database.
