| Born and raised in suburban Chicago, Ill., I graduated from Elk Grove Hgh School in 2004 and currently attend Taylor University (Ind.). I will graduate from Taylor in 2008 with a BA in political science, minors in communication studies and public relations, and completion of the honors program. Throughout high school and college, I have participated in many extracurricular activities, such as concert choirs, varsity cheerleading, class boards, student senate, and campus newspapers. I have also been active in my home church, Elk Grove Baptist Church, where I participated in youth groups and served on the student leadership team. I have held a wide variety of jobs and internships. Summer jobs have included serving at Steak 'n' Shake and Coldstone Creamery, cashiering and conceirging at Pirates' Cove (a children's amusement park), and working as a receptionist at local businesses. In college, I was the editor-in-chief of The Echo, the campus newspaper. I also interned at The Evangelical Alliance Mission in the organization's communication department. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. At home, I live with my parents and younger sister Elizabeth (17). I have a large extended family that I see often both near my hometown in Chicago and on the west coast. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, singing, dancing, shopping, traveling, music, movies, golfing, and watching sports (especially the Cubbies). I enjoy studying politics, international cultures, classic literature, and philosophy. |
