Monday-Introduction to Alliteration

Begin by exploring the websites on alliteration.

Be prepared to discuss and define alliteration and give examples. Feel free to use these sites as resources.

Practice-Use the online quiz on the Mrs. Dowling’s Literature Term web site.

Tuesday-Practice identifying Alliteration in Poetry

From the board or overhead as a class, we will practice fill-in-the-blank alliteration examples from the web sites. Handout for extra practice.

Wednesday-Group Assignment

You will be put in groups of 3-5 people and you will create a Headline Poem, using Alliteration. One person from each group needs to pick up a handout titled; “Headline Poem Assignment” and the materials that you will need to complete your assignment.
