Nugget was purchased from a Pet shop - he was "on sale" complete with cage set up, plus some enormous wounds around his neck. The shop assistant's explanation was that he had been in a fight with their other male, who they continued to breed with. I stated that I only wanted the rat, and bought him home with me. A vet visit that afternoon and it was discovered that the wounds were due to a super high allergic reaction to mites, and we are still treating him.

On the good side, Nugget is a delight to have - he tales his treatments so well, and is such a huggy boy, that the original intention of putting him up for rescue disappeared very fast
