If you can make it there , you can make it anywhere...

We are of course talking about New York. The goal of the visit there was not to make it there, or make it with someone...
I just wanted to visit some friends of mine there, Fritz and Anne-Lena.
You can find their fantastic home page right here. (Thanks for the accommodation and the good time together)

From Boston I took a Greyhound Bus which took me 4 1/2 hour. Not too bad, even though the comfort in the buses are much
better in Norway.

Friday was kind of relaxed, just had  a couple of beers and basically catching up.
Saturday the three of us set out to see New York, that meaning first and foremost Manhattan.
We started the day by taking the Staten Island ferry. This ferry (surprise, surprise) takes us to Staten Island, but it also gives you the opportunity
to see Manhattan and its surrounding areas from a distance. Now I know a bit more what Bruce Springsteen (and Tom Waits) are singing about in the song
"Jersey Girl". After that we went around in Manhatten, visiting Chinatown, City hall and Central Park. We rounded up the day with a play that students from Anne-Lena's school was setting up. Quite fun.

On our way to Staten Island.

Battery Park and around Wall Street

You can't go to New York without trying the nightlife. So we got dressed to kill and thought starting out at a place called Excess would be good.
Okay place, but we decided to move on. Checking with the line outside a place we were told that the place was a bar. Well this bar had more energy
than any discoteq in Norway. Really good (and loud) techno music, crowed with a lot of nice (looking) people. Very cool. But we decided there might be even more to see so we went to a place called Joe's (something?). Anyway when we got there it was closed. We had forgotten about the daysaving. So from beeing close to 4 it was close to 5. Ahh well, it was perhaps time to get home anyway.

Sunday I (yes me Kjetil) got up quite early, 10 am. For me on a Sunday morning after a night on the town it is very early. Anyway dragging Fritz out of the bed, we soon found ourself ready to go to the Musem of Natural Art. I don't want to go into details why Anne-Lena couldn't join us. :)

Finally some final pictures that make more or less sense.

Day two. I guess I was tired of shooting pictures

"I am glad I will be away the next time he is in New York..."

Thanks again to Fritz and Anne-Lena. New York is the place to be.... for a while.
