Fanfic - The 10th Kingdom and more.

So you like reading this kind of stuff?

Hopefully this page may be of some use to you then...

I've been wanting to set this up for a while and never got around to it. Here is a collection of links to useful sites, relating to reading and writing erotic fiction. Yes, I know this is a fanfic site, but it's also part of a personal bugbare of mine - I know lots of people read this kind of thing (they may not admit it in public, but that's another story), but only a few people write it. I want to try and change this.
So this page will contain links for quite a few of my favourite sites. Now to state the obvious.
This page is talking about Adult themes and contains links for lots of Adult sites. There are also a few slash references. You have been warned.

So where to start? It is generally said that to be able to write this kind of thing, you must also be willing to read it.

Black Lace Books
Erotic fiction written by women for women. That's the blurb on the back cover anyway.
Black Lace is an imprint of Virgin Publishing Ltd and has existed since July 1993. They publish two new books a month and have recently started adding a reprint per month too.
The official Virgin site is at http://www.blacklace-books.co.uk. This takes you to their erotica subsite and includes information about the company, authors, and guidelines for prospective authors. The subsite also gives details about Nexus (Erotic fiction for men), Idol (Homoerotic fiction for men), and Sapphire (Lesbian erotic fiction).
I personally prefer the ERA version http://www.erotica-readers.com/ERA/B-blacklacebooks.htm (more on ERA later), as it gives you a summary of the previous released books of the last year (handy in case you missed some).

Black Lace Books are UK based, but are also available at Amazon.com. If the US has an equivalent series can someone please tell me?

Next are the personal "I'm going to plug my work" and writing guide sites.

Emma Holly - Erotica & Romance
http://www.wavetech.net/~emmah/eroticmind/. I love this site. Emma Holly is one of my favourite Black Lace authors, so she plugs her books a lot here, but the real gems of this site are the Workshop and the Recommended Reads.
The Workshop is a very useful guide to writing erotic fiction. It also has a wonderful table to counteract anyone who says "I can't write that! I'm too embarrased/shy/inexperienced/insert relevant excuse here."
The Recommended Reads are split between three pages, and I must say I agree with most of the choices as I'm currently working my way through about half the list.
The site also contains plenty of exepts and links.

Erotica Femina
http://www.elated.com/erotica-femina/. Another site from another Black Lace author. This time Vivienne LaFey. Some writing tips, exepts and quite a few links here.

Katy Terrega
http://www.katyterrega.com/. Again, writing tips, exerpts and links. http://www.katyterrega.com/writers.html is the link for the writing resources. But there's somthing new. A bi-weekly newsletter, Y! Groups strikes again. It's at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KatyTerrega if you are interested.

Writing guide sites, Grammar, Punctuation, etc.

ERA
Erotic Readers (and Writers) Asociation. http://www.erotica-readers.com/. This site is a teasure trove for both readers and writers. It has a newsletter, mailing list, and information about absolutely everything you could probably want to know about. Absolutely tons of links.

Sex in the Romance:A Review of Romantic Encounters of the Close Kind
http://home.epix.net/~jlferri/sexrom.html. If you are ever stuck for a word to describe various body parts or actions, then this site should help.

Tham's Sexed-Up Grammar Guide
http://www.slashaholics.org/thamiris/slash/Grammar.html. This is my favourite grammar guide, but be warned, it's slash featuring the men from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Other Adult Fanfic sites.

Adult Fan Fiction on the Net
http://members.aol.com/ksnicholas/fanfic/adult.html. This covers quite a lot of fandoms, but I have no idea when it was last updated.

Fanfiction.net
http://fanfiction.net/. Every fandom that exists, probably. It's doesn't seem to like Netscape browsers though.

Lastly, but certainly not least.

Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.
I think I should buy shares in the company, I spend that much time and money here!

Tell me what you think of this page? Any links you think ought to be here?
